Welcome! This course is approved by CPD, and was designed to address the currently limited best practice guidance for providing support to learners in Higher Education who have autism and ADHD, who may also be vulnerable in terms of mental well-being.
By the end of this course, you will have learnt about the following:
- A comprehensive understanding of autism and ADHD, how they are diagnosed, and the key challenges and opportunities that they both present within higher education.
- An understanding of the models of disability (medical, social, and biopsychosocial)
- An understanding of the impact of various factors on the mental health of individuals with autism and ADHD within higher education settings.
- Strategies to support learners in higher education with autism and ADHD holistically, considering mental health, academic, and social aspects.
Upon completion of the course, you will have achieved the necessary skills to provide a holistic approach to support learners in higher education with autism and ADHD, and this will open more opportunities for you to work for NMH providers, including us!
